HistoryOPS affiliate company, SBM Offshore Group, start to operate in December 1999 the first deep-water FPSO in Angola, in Block 14 for CABGOG. In 2003, OPS – Serviços de Produção de Petróleos, Limited, a joint-venture, was created by a joint effort from Sonangol and SBM Offshore, with main objective to operate the FPSO's fleet in Angola.
OPS has been the pioneer in a remarkable set of events in the Angolan oil industry, operating: the 1st deep-water FPSO (December 1999, Kuito), the 1st FPSO in Block 15, for EEAL – Xicomba and the 1st LPG FPSO for CABGOC – Sanha. Due to its growth and operations expansion, in 2009 OPS inaugurated its main Office in Luanda. Our Mission“To provide the Oil and Gas industry with high quality production services through the Floating Production and Floating Storage facilities (FPSOs and FSOs), by continuing development and expansion of Angolan competencies to meet our Clients Targets and Objectives with excellency.

Relying on its own work force, with support of the affiliate companies, OPS provides safe, reliable, and cost effective solutions for the needs of offshore oil and gas field developments, offering a service of excellence to the clients. OPS has accumulated more than 40 years in providing O&M Services in Angola offshore, with an impressive uptime of 99% in the fleet. With the operations center in Luanda (Head office) to run 5 FPSOs simultaneously, OPS currently benefits of its spare resources capacity which allows to re-focus in the enhancement development of its main asset – people. OPS has training development agreements with the main Training Technical Centers, local and overseas. |
